Facilities Services Supervisor Position Overview

The Facilities Services Supervisor provides supervision and leadership for staff in the delivery of services at designated facilities at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, OR. In this role you will supervise staff in performance of daily activities related to physical structures, grounds, HVAC, mechanical, electrical and utility systems. Also responsible for supervision of vendors and contractors regarding their provided services; maintaining an established preventative maintenance program; ensuring compliance with established local, state and federal regulatory agencies and associated guidelines; and assisting the Facilities Manager with monetary controls, budget development and planning. May also assist Manage/Director with construction and remodeling activities. May also provide oversight of Security and maintenance of security equipment at AACH as supported by ATRMC. Responsible for enforcing security patrols and ID badges, and protecting property from theft, embezzlement and sabotage.


Education: High school diploma or equivalent. One year certification from college or technical school preferred.

License / Certification: Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance required. Journeyman Electrical Certification, Journeyman HVAC Certification, Journeyman Plumbing Certification preferred.

Experience: At least three years experience in a supervisory role with a minimum of five years experience working with building and mechanical maintenance tasks, including considerable knowledge of H.V.A.C, boilers, chillers, utilities systems, electrical circuits and other complex mechanical equipment is required. Three of the five years must be in a hospital, health care, or institutional setting. Preferred: Experience with fire alarm, nurse call system installation / maintenance or related training / experience, pneumatic HVAC control or DDC installation or related training / experience, previous training/experience with OSHA, NFPA, JCAHO, DNV compliance standards.

If oversight of grounds is required, must have knowledge of irrigation; landscape maintenance; plant performance and identification; and calibration, mixing and application of pesticides.

Core Competencies: Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and effectively repair a wide variety of hospital and healthcare related equipment; ability to respond to emergency conditions and resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible; ability to set priorities and procure parts and supplies with minimal supervision; ability to read and interpret documents such as Electrical & Mechanical blue prints, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, schematic diagrams and safety codes; ability to read and interpret governmental and regulatory agency documents such as OAR statutes, OSHA compliance codes, DEQ, EPA compliance codes, etc.; good interpersonal communications skills to be able to deal with the professional staff, patients, visitors and the general public on a daily basis; ability to work with teams as well as alone; proficiency in computers and related software applications including MS Office, project software, navigating the Internet; and use of computer scheduling and work order maintenance systems and programs.
