Application Analyst 2 Position Overview

The Application Analyst assists in the coordination and monitoring of the design, development, modification and implementation of information technology applications within Asante. This includes analyzing and modifying data systems and system design; determining system specifications and recording layouts; involvement with design, testing and implementation of systems; coordinating with the Super Users and system vendors; providing overall process review and recommendations including system optimization; and developing procedures to process information to meet user needs including use of report writers and data engines. The Application Analyst may also support multiple applications; assist in training technical support and Super Users in effective utilization of database1; and support multiple systems. The expectation in this role is to perform assignments concerned with minimum supervision and serve as Tier 3 technical support.

As an Application Analyst 2 at Asante, you will have the opportunity to:

Assist in the analysis, design, testing and ongoing support of defined information system(s)

Apply knowledge of the application to the needs and workflow of the Asante departments or customers that will be affected by the system and provide overall process review and recommendations including system optimization

Perform those duties required to ensure application and data integrity including creation and maintenance of test environments, current release levels, updated documentation and production systems

Provide assistance to internal customers in defining system requirements and support processes and act as a technical consultant to other departments

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree required in mathematics, computer science, information science or a related field - or 5 years of additional equivalent work experience (in lieu of a degree) is required

Experience

A minimum of 3 years experience working with clinical and/or healthcare related IT systems (such as Epic, Cerner, McKesson, other EMR systems, etc.)

Experience must also include at least 2 years of experience as a systems analyst

Experience must also include design, integration, implementation, and support of a system

Report writer tool development (Crystal Reports), preferred

Database administration (SQL, Oracle, Sybase), preferred

Required Skills

Strong skills in documentation and written communication

Ability to consistently meet timelines, deadlines, milestones by organizing and prioritizing tasks and projects

Advanced interpersonal skills to represent the department to internal and external customers including the ability to effectively communicate with Asante's management, employees, physicians, clinicians, vendors and consultants

Ability able to communicate to those that don't have a technical background

Ability to work independently and on teams and to be self motivated and goal oriented

Clinical background and/or Project Management experience, preferred
