Critical Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Asante has an opportunity available for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in our Critical Care/ICU department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. The Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide direct care for patients in our critical care departments and will be responsible for admissions, history and physicals, insertion and management of arterial and vascular access, obtaining patient consents, providing daily care, and transferring and responding to patients and families.

Requirements: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program approved by the American Medical Association.

Licensure: Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners (OBME). Must have an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Competencies: Must have ability to analyze problems, recognize cause and devise solutions. Procedural competency (central line, arterial line placement, etc.) is highly desirable to begin with, and mandatory within 3-6 months of joining. Must appreciate that we are a professional service organization, and that consideration and respect for those that we serve and with whom we interact determines our reputation, in the medical community and greater community at large.
