RRMC features one of the most technologically advanced imaging environments in the Pacific Northwest, as well as one of the most capable teams of physicians, nurses, technologists and support staff in the country. Women's Imaging provides the most comprehensive breast health services in Jackson and Josephine Counties including stereo tactic breast biopsies, comprehensive breast imaging and Computer Aided Detection (CAD). We are fully wired to accommodate digital mammography.
The Mammography Tech at the Women's Imaging Center (WIC) performs various mammographic and radiographic procedures used in diagnosis and treatment of disease, requiring independent and professional judgment, according to established standards and practices.
Education: None outside of licensure. Bachelor of Science in Radiology or equivalent degree preferred.
License/Certification: Licensed in Radiography by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) with certification in Mammography (M). If the license by the OBMI is in transition of renewal the certification part of the license may need to be verified by the appropriate national agency: ARRT, ARDMS, ARMRIT, CCI or NMTCB. Basic Life Support certified through the American Heart Association.
Experience: None outside of licensure. Two years experience as a Mammography Technologist with knowledge and experience with all mammography and general radiographic equipment and procedures preferred. Experience with breast ultrasound equipment and procedures preferred. Knowledge of EPIC, PACS, and 3D Hologic Selenia Dimensions is desired.
