Emergency Services Coordinating Clerk

As a Emergency Services Coordinating Clerk you will have the opportunity to:

Provide assistance to the Emergency Services staff to ensure a smooth flow of patients through the ER

Demonstrate communication with staff, patients and families, other departments and physicians with direct accountability to the charge nurse

Demonstrate knowledge and skill in cardiac rhythm interpretation and documentation by monitoring patient parameters as assigned and reporting abnormalities, changes or concerns to the appropriate staff member

Perform order entry, data collection, and assisting with admissions, transfers, surgical procedures and other related duties.



High school diploma or equivalent

Successful completion of a basic cardiac rhythms course

Medical terminology knowledge through a class or experience in a health care setting


Telemetry monitoring in an acute care setting or EMT, CNA or RT experience required

Medical Terminology skills required

Clerical and reception experience preferred

Previous Emergency Room experience preferred

Additional Information

Must be able to successfully challenge a Basic Cardiac Rhythms Course through Asante or successfully complete the Basic Cardiac Course.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

Due to the nature of the Emergency Department, this position requires excellent prioritizing and multi-tasking skills. The ability to deal with stressful situations, communicate clearly, work independently using appropriate judgment skills - along with the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations - is crucial in this environment. The Coordinating Clerk must also be skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with patients, staff, and the public.
