Communications Operator Position Overview
The Communications Operator will have the opportunity to join the team at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. You will be responsible for operating the telephone communication center between the public, patients, physicians, and personnel.
As a Communications Operator at Asante, you will have the opportunity to:
Work collaboratively with the dispatch team to manage incoming and outgoing hospital communication
Operate a multi-line phone, take messages and page staff
Triage emergency calls and wrote them to appropriate personnel according to departmental and organizational policy
Monitor other communication and emergency systems
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate's degree preferred
Six months related experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
One year switchboard/communications operator experience
Experience in a fast-paced, stressful environment (large acute care facility, emergency services setting, etc.)
Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office preferred
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Ability to maintain composure during high stress periods, and interact with a variety of personality types
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload in a high volume environment and maintain excelled customer service skills
A cooperative effort toward team concepts
