Director of Perioperative Services Position Overview
At Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC), we have a state of the art surgical department with 15 OR suites, including 2 dedicated cardiac surgery suites and a hybrid operating suite. On average, there are 10,000 cases performed each year at ARRMC, in a variety of specialties: general/vascular, neurosurgery, total joint/orthopedics, bariatric surgery, trauma, gyn, ENT, plastics, urology and cardiothoracic surgery. ARRMC is a very progressive surgical hospital. In addition to performing robotic urological, gynecologic and general surgery, ARRMC was the first hospital in the state to employ the use of the Mazor neurosurgical robot. In addition, ARRMC was one of the first hospitals in Oregon to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and is recognized as among the top cardiac surgery hospitals in the West. ARRMC serves as the regional referral center for nine counties and is the only Level II Trauma hospital in Southern Oregon and Northern California.
The Director of Perioperative Services at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center is clinically, administratively and fiscally accountable for Surgery, PACU, Anesthesia, SSU, Endo, Pre-Op Clinic and Sterile Processing Services. The director reports to the hospital's Vice President of Operations, and assures that the mission, goals, and philosophy of the hospital and nursing service are consistently implemented within their scope of responsibility. The Director has 24-hour responsibility for administrative services and patient care within the perioperative areas. As a Director of Perioperative Services at Asante, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage strategic planning, program development and capital and operational budgets
Grow, facilitate and coach a high performing team
Ensure high quality patient care
Work with the perioperative leadership and clinical teams to improve perioperative quality and efficiency
Develop new methods to improve existing systems or operations
Provide specialty-specific leadership in expansion/re-build of perioperative services
Bachelors of Science in Nursing(BSN) required
MBA, MSN or Master's degree in related field preferred
3 years current management/administrative experience in Surgical Services required
Clinical competency with a minimum 3 years experience in Surgical Services required
Demonstrated managerial and leadership attributes/experience required
Proven success in program development and implementation preferred
Proven process improvement/quality management experience preferred
Proven success in perioperative building/expansion projects preferred
Licensure / Certification
Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by Oregon State board of Nursing required
Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association preferred; ACLS preferred; TCRN or TNCC preferred.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement change from concept to actualization
Demonstrated ability to use performance improvement techniques, such as Lean and/or Six Sigma, to drive operational improvement
Demonstrated ability to set vision and direction and engage a team in goal attainment
Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written communications
Demonstrated ability to analyze and utilize data in decision making process
Demonstrated ability to analyze and act upon department financial data, develop operational and capital budgets and work collaboratively with Materials Management/Supply chain leaders on strategic planning for perioperative services equipment and supplies
