The Manager of Laboratory Operations at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center is responsible for the daily operations to maintain quality and service expectations of the department. In this role you will prepare and monitor the departmental budget to assist in maintaining Asante's profitability. Maintain appropriate departmental staffing levels to ensure expected service levels are provided while promoting staff relations to create a positive and productive work environment. This position reports to the laboratory Director.

The Laboratory at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center conducts over one million billed tests per year, a major factor in our designation as a 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital. Our staff of skilled professionals (including nine Pathologists) covers a full range of specialties, including Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Cytology, Microbiology and Histology. Our lab is also a Red Cross Depot Center and offers an extensive esoteric menu through Special Chemistry. The lab features the following equipment:Total Lab Automation (one of the first sites in the state to offer this feature) Misys LIS; DXC 800; LX 20; DXI; LH 750; Advance; ProVue Automation available in Blood Bank; Automated MIC and Blood Culture Instrumentation in Microbiology.
In addition to supporting our nationally recognized cardiovascular program, our labs support a wide range of clinical specialties, including oncology, a neonatal intensive care unit, three general intensive care units, and trauma care. In addition to being CAP accredited, our laboratory is also AABB certified.

Education: Requires Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Laboratory Medicine or related science.

License/Certification: Requires Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certified by the ASCP Board of Certification or equivalent (MT by AMT, HEW/HHS, CLS by CDPH, Medical Lab Specialist by US Military)

Experience: Position requires minimum of 7 years experience in a Clinical Laboratory with minimum of 5 years supervisory/management experience in a pathologist directed laboratory. Previous computer experience or training in windows and LIS format. Previous Hospital Laboratory management experience in a 200 + bed hospital. Demonstrated experience in re-engineering and integrated systems process. Ability to plan, organize and carry out multiple duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision. Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills. Thorough knowledge of laboratory principles and regulatory guidelines. Knowledge of standard management practice and good level of fiscal management capabilities. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Focus on teambuilding and client relations.
