Staff Assistant 2 / Cath Lab Position Overview
The Staff Assistant 2 for the Cath Lab at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) performs a range of administrative support functions for the department and staff. One of the primary responsibilities is scheduling procedures in the Cath lab based on orders provided through phone and fax by Southern Oregon Cardiology, Oregon Surgical Specialists, Hematology Oncology Associates, Medford Radiologic Group, and in-house physicians (in person or by phone). This will include calling some patients to notify them of their upcoming procedure along with pre-operative expectations. Epic Radiant is the scheduling program used for these orders. The ideal candidate will feel very comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast paced public office where staff and physicians can be walking in and out of the room.
The Staff Assistant 2 will also be the first point of contact for all calls coming into the department. Other tasks critical to the position include, but are not limited to, maintaining the STEMI data log for the Cath Lab staff; maintaining the revision timeline for the departmental policies; scribing the minutes for the monthly departmental meetings; attending brief daily meetings with the Interventional Radiologists and other departments to map out the physician's schedule for the day; maintaining a monthly calendar of the on-call physicians for the staff; maintaining the vendor list and the lead orders for staff, and ordering office supplies.
The primary schedule for this position will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 6:45am to 5:15pm.
High school diploma with 1 year of clerical and computer applications training - or equivalent experience is required
Associates degree in office sciences, business or related area, preferred
Minimum of 3 years of progressive clerical experience is required
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint and experience coordinating projects required
Medical office experience, preferred
Experience utilizing Epic or other electronic health records, preferred
