Sterile Processing Technician Certified Position Overview
The Sterile Processing Technician Certified is responsible for disassembly, cleaning, decontamination, reassemble, sterile preparation, sterilization, storage and distribution of all instrument trays, sets, medical surgical supplies and equipment that are required for the care of the patients.
As the Sterile Processing Technician Certified at Asante you will have the opportunity to:
Follow infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of sterilization practices, instrumentation, decontamination processes, medical/surgical supplies and patient related equipment
Knowledge of surgical instrument trays, sets and single instruments
o Knowledge of surgical procedures and supplies needed on specific cases. General understanding of the uses and functions of medical/surgical supplies
o One year previous sterile processing experience working with instruments, steam and ETO gas sterilizers, surgery cart systems and instrument decontamination
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by CBSPD
Certified Registered Central Service Technician - certified by IAHCSMM (Sterile Processing)
This position requires excellent organization and customer service skills.
Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within Asante and outside agencies.
Must be able to independently organize and follow through with detail work.
Ability to convey enthusiasm to others.
Ability to clearly communicate between staff, shifts and other departments.
Must be able to maintain composure and work under stress as a team member.
Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
