Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Position Overview

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) will provide in-depth nutritional care of patients in inpatient settings by performing nutritional screening, communicating with the medical staff and providing medical nutrition therapy. The Clinical Registered Dietitian for Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) provides medical nutrition therapy for inpatients including, but not limited to: comprehensive nutritional assessment; Nutrition Focused Physical Exams; recommending appropriate MNT interventions, follow-up and evaluation of interventions; and assessing and documenting criteria supporting malnutrition diagnoses, when applicable. Patient care areas include, but are not limited to: Critical Care, Rehab, Pediatrics, Oncology, and General Medicine. This position also acts as a liaison between Asante, our patients, and the community in advocating health and well-being.

As a Dietitian at Asante, you will have the opportunity to:

Perform nutrition assessments, including Nutrition Focused Physical Exams and documentation to assure appropriate medical nutritional therapy recommendations and interventions

Ensure excellent customer service in interactions with patients, multidisciplinary team members and patient families

Maintain clinical competencies, registration, and licensure to ensure compliances with State and Federal regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelors Degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or equivalent required, in combination with RDN certification or RDN eligible status

Must have completed The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited internship with a clinical emphasis or have graduated from a coordinated undergraduate program in dietetics

Experience

One to two years inpatient clinical dietetic experience, preferred

Licensure/Certifications

RDN by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required (If not registered at the time of employment, must be registry eligible and successfully pass the registry examination within one year of hire)

Licensed Dietitian (LD) by the Oregon State Board of Licensed Dietitians, preferred

Required Skills

Demonstrated problem-solving skills of a complex nature and excellent organizational skills

Ability to gain the confidence and co-operation of patients and maintain effective working relationship with others, such as physicians, nurses and co-workers

A high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with patients, families, multidisciplinary team members and co-workers at all times
