Occupational Therapist Pediatrics Clinic Position Overview
The Occupational Therapist in the Pediatrics Clinic provides occupational therapy services to a wide variety of patients and works closely with others on the rehabilitation team and in other departments. This position exists in order to provide patients/clients with quality, cost-effective services aimed at optimizing independent function. Provides weekend and holiday work as assigned. Hours of work may vary according to patient care needs. Individuals may be assigned permanently, temporarily or simultaneously to more than one worksite where specific job requirements are described as an addendum to this document. For this reason, therapists are expected to be generalists able to provide at least basic assessment to all referred patients.
As the Occupational Therapist in the Pediatrics Clinic at Asante you will have the opportunity to:
Provide occupational therapy services to a wide variety of patients.
Work closely with others on the rehabilitation team and in other departments.
Bachelor's degree or certificate from a school of occupational therapy, or equivalent.
Ability to adhere to and maintain expertise regarding federal and state regulations, and specific carrier requirements.
Preferred education with Feeding therapy, sensory integration, training in use of commonly accepted evaluation tools such as the MULLEN, HELP, and the B.D.I.
Preferred experience in a NICU and in settings working with infant toddler populations and their families.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA)
Occupational Therapist (OT) licensed by Oregon State Board of Occupational Therapy, or a limited permit from the board.
Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance may be required
Ability to process information, problem-solve individually and within a team setting, plus prioritize multiple tasks appropriately, and manage time well.
Flexibility with scheduling, in order to provide treatment to patients on weekend assignments.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with patients, families, coworkers, physicians, and community members.
Strong knowledge of office procedures and business.
Ability to make decisions independently and in accordance with established policies.
Exceptional customer service skills, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality appropriate for a large corporate environment.
Strong organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, and Word.
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
