Position Summary

The Vascular Ultrasound Tech performs vascular exams of high clinical and diagnostic quality and compiles quantitative information for final analysis and interpretation by medical staff physician.

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of accredited Imaging program required

Experience

  • None outside licensure

Licensure/Certifications

  • Licensed in Sonography by Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) with subspecialty as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
        • Temporary license is required for new hires and official license in RVT and national registry must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Current Vascular Imaging license from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in Vascular Ultrasound
        • Board certification from one of the registries must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start

Preferred Licensure

  • License from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) in the specialties of Abdomen (Abd) and Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/Gyn)
  • Licensed in Sonography by Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) with subspecialty as an RDMS in Abd and OB/Gyn
