Position Summary

The Supervisor, Environmental Services supervises all activities within Environmental Services (EVS). They will monitor daily EVS activities on assigned shift, ensuring that cleaning standards are met or exceeded and are responsible for the planning of project and floor work schedules. They will schedule and coordinate personnel to respond to the demands of these standards, and ensures proper training of personnel and may be expected to function in staff role as necessary to meet patient care needs. This role reports to EVS Manager/Hospitality Director and may be responsible for EVS department in manager's absence.

This role is also responsible for the following:

  • Determining staffing and scheduling needs for shift.
  • Developing and conducting ongoing competency assessments, practices and procedures.
  • Coordinating day-to-day activities for their shift.
  • Training new employees.
  • Conducting annual reviews with their teams.
  • Working with management in preparation of policy and procedures and with personnel recruitment and staff development.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in a related field

Experience

  • 2 years progressively more responsible experience in a related setting, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Experience providing knowledge of practices, policies and procedures for EVS function. Related college education may be substituted for leadership experience
