Position Summary

Nursing Professional Development (NPD) is a specialized nursing practice that facilitates professional role development and growth of nurses and other healthcare personnel. The NPD Staff Assistant 3 and Training Center Coordinator, under limited supervision, supports the operational functions of the Asante Nursing Professional Development department and the NPD team with a variety program management and administrative support functions.

Program coordination and management responsibilities include registration, class management, scheduling, payment processing, and compliance with organization specific requirements (e.g. the American Heart Association). These programs include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting as the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Coordinator for the following programs: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Programs (NRP).
  • Administration of the Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum program.
  • Support of Asante clinical programs and classes such as Basic Cardiac Rhythms, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, and other external/internal education initiatives.

Administration and clerical support responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating and editing forms, documents, and presentations using word processing, spreadsheets, or databases.
  • Collecting data and developing or generating reports to support department functions.
  • Coordinating meetings as directed, including location, participants, agenda and minutes.
  • Performing general clerical and support tasks such as preparing educational materials, ordering office supplies, proctoring exams, taking meeting minutes, operating and maintaining a variety of office equipment, etc.
  • Providing excellent customer service in answering and directing phone calls, emails, and visitors to the appropriate people.
  • Providing and distributing information and materials for Asante classes and educational functions.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required
  • Associates degree, preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of advanced level administrative work including planning, coordination, and implementation of projects with minimal supervision is required

Certifications

  • DL: Possession of a valid Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance may be required
      • Must have Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of moving to Oregon (if applicable)
