Remote Coding Supervisor

Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | 1st Shift - Days

PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote position, however due to our pay practices, qualified candidates MUST reside within one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KY, ME, MI, MT, NC, NM, NV, OK, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA. While candidates need to live or relocate to one of the aforementioned states, working remotely will require reliable broadband internet and personal cell phone service. Remote work may include working day-to-day operations during Pacific Standard business hours or online training.

Position Summary

The Coding Supervisor coordinates and supervises the overall function of the Coding staff for Asante. They collaborate with other Asante entities and physicians to help improve overall coding and documentation quality and compliance as well as supervising daily operations. This includes Coding Training, Education, Compliance, ICD diagnosis, procedure and HCPCS coding; and collaborating with Revenue Cycle Leadership and other clinical department staff to continuously improve training, education, documentation practices, automation, and compliant revenue production.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associates degree in a health services discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive coding or coding review experience in a healthcare system or related field

Licensure/Certifications

ONE of the following certifications is required:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC
  • Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) from AAPC
  • Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) from AAPC
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) OR Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA, formerly RRA) from AHIMA
  • ICD10 certification by American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or ICD10 certification by American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) is preferred
