Position Summary

The Obstetrics Manager reports to a Director of Nursing and is clinically, operationally, and fiscally accountable for the Family Birth Center and Family Education and Support departments. The Clinical Manager facilitates the Asante vision and values by setting professional standards in an open, creative, accountable, non-threatening and supportive environment.

As an Obstetrics Manager, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in achieving hospital and health system goals while leading our medical staff for the continuous advancement of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of healthcare clinicians who offer high quality care for pregnant women, new mothers, and well newborns.
  • Work closely with physicians, neighboring departments, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care for obstetrics patients.
  • Work through the department budget, resource management and ensuring team is compliant with regulations and hospital policies.
  • Demonstrate leadership, values integration, and conflict resolution.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field, or within 6 months of completion of hire date.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or a related field, preferred.

Experience

  • 3 years progressive leadership experience and 2 years of clinical experience required.
  • Clinical leadership experience highly desired.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (or eligible for licensure) required upon start.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.
  • CNML: Certified Nurse Manager Leader by the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL), preferred.
