Please Note - This is not a remote position. There will be a percentage of time worked onsite and the candidate must live within 50 miles of campus.

Position Summary

The Database Administrator installs, monitors, maintains, and performance tunes production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability and security. This role is also responsible for implementing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of databases and their applications. May also assist in developing and implementing database policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in field of Computer Science, Information Services, Database Development, Database Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in the configuration, integration, and management of applications, databases, and operating systems in a distributed computing environment required.

Preferred Experience

• Cogito Systems Administration.
• Microsoft SQL Certifications.
• Powershell Experience.
• ETL/Report Writer Experience.
• Good understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and IRIS on Microsoft Windows and UNIX based platforms.
• Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with data processing flowcharting techniques.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy and security practices and laws.
