Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.9 (72 hours per pay period) | Full Time | Variable Scheduled Days | 12-hour shifts
PLEASE NOTE: This is an entry level position and a typical starting range for most candidates (depending on years of work experience) will be between $15.00 to $17.00 an hour. A rate over $17.00 an hour could take at least 5 years of very direct work experience (such as caregiver or CNA) or 10+ years of non-relevant work experience.

Position Summary
The Patient Safety Monitor primarily assists with providing a safe environment to a specific patient through visual observation. The need for a Patient Safety Monitor is initiated and ordered by the attending physician or per hospital policy and in this role, they will be responsible for providing customer service to the patient and as well as notifying the appropriate primary nurse and/or charge nurse of safety issues or concerns. There will be minimal charting in Epic (the electronic medical records system).
For this position, Pediatrics is the priority unit for the Patient Safety Monitor (PSM). May float to other departments as needed for coverage.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the pre-teen to teenage patient population and willing to interact well with the patient during their extended admissions. In this role, remaining unbiased and strictly maintaining patient confidentiality for this patient population is critical in this position.
