Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM

Salary: Based on experience and level of positions. While candidates at the Systems Engineer 2 level are preferred, candidates at the Systems Engineer 1 level will be considered. Details regarding qualifications for both levels are noted below. Systems Engineer 1 starts at $39.92 and up and Systems Engineer 2 starts at $47.21 and up (based on qualifications and years of relevant experience).

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fully remote position and will require being onsite on a regular basis. Candidates must live or be willing to relocate to southern Oregon.

Key Responsibilities

For this position specifically, the ideal candidate will be more of a Network Engineer with knowledge on network switches, routers, firewall, and wireless networks. This position currently focuses primarily on Cisco switches, network Infrastructure projects, and Palo Alto firewalls.

The engineer in this role assists with the Cisco wireless network and helps with routing configuration. Also assists other ITS teams to troubleshoots major connectivity issues. Candidates with knowledge of Cisco systems and are Palo Alto firewalls are highly preferred.

Systems Engineer 2 - Position Overview

The Systems Engineer 2 is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and support of network and host systems/applications owned or operated by Asante. These systems include, but are not limited to: Windows and Unix applications, client, server, and storage systems, network routing and switching, telephony, and security. The Systems Engineer 2 supports the day-to-day operations of Asante's Data Centers, does upgrade, capacity and disaster planning, and network performance analysis. The Systems Engineer 2 requires an understanding of the systems design and analysis techniques necessary to assist internal customers in defining systems/applications to meet the institutional goals of quality patient care, cost containment, and operational efficiency. Systems Engineer 2's routinely act as technical resources for strategic initiatives, projects, and system implementations. The Systems Engineer 2 may be focused in specific disciplines (e.g. server operations, storage systems, network infrastructure, client workstations, application support, etc.). The Systems Engineer 2 serves as Tier 2 and 3 technical support for many systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and or experience, is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting computer systems and applications including systems analysis and performance tuning in a 7 x 24 mission critical data center environment required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer operating systems, client and server-based applications, data storage systems, systems monitoring and analysis, voice, data and network communications systems, backup systems, and disaster recovery required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, network management systems, SNMP, protocol analysis, and network troubleshooting using industry standard tools required.

Systems Engineer 1 - Position Overview

The Systems Engineer 1 is responsible for the implementation and support of network and host systems/applications owned or operated by Asante. These systems include, but are not limited to, Windows and Unix applications, client, server, and storage systems, network routing and switching, telephony, and security. The Systems Engineer 1 supports the day-to-day operations of Asante's Data Centers, and does upgrade, capacity and disaster planning, and network performance analysis following established procedures. The Systems Engineer 1 also follows established procedures to assist internal customers in evaluating systems/applications to meet the institutional goals of quality patient care, cost containment, and operational efficiency. Systems Engineer 1s routinely act as technical resources for projects and system implementations. The Systems Engineer 1 may be focused in specific disciplines (e.g. server operations, storage systems, network infrastructure, client workstations, application support, etc). The Systems Engineer 1 serves as Tier 2 and 3 technical support for designated systems.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent education and or experience, is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting workstations, servers, and network infrastructure systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer operating systems, client and server based applications, data storage systems, systems monitoring and analysis, voice, data and network communications systems, and backup systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP, protocol analysis, and network troubleshooting using industry standard tools.

Preferred Certifications - Both Levels

• Microsoft Office Certified Professional
• CompTIA Certification related to specialty
• CISCO Certified Networking Associate
