The Emergency Services Nursing Director reports to the hospital's VP of Nursing and has 24-hour responsibility for patient care within the hospital. This position is responsible for supporting and modeling a professional culture focused on quality, patient safety, employee engagement, fiscal responsibility, and patient experience and is clinically, administratively, and fiscally accountable for assigned patient care areas. The Director assures that the mission, vision, and values of the health system are consistently implemented within his/her scope of responsibility.

The Director facilitates the delivery of care by setting professional standards in an open, creative, accountable, non-threatening and supportive environment. This includes empowerment of staff, providing resources and commitment to trust and respect for all.

Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) sees an average of 130 patients a day. It is a level 2 trauma center. We have 39 rooms with 20 designated as high acuity, 5 moderate/low acuity, 4 Psych flex rooms and 5 Triage rooms. RN to patient ratios are: 1:1 - 1:4 depending on acuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and leadership guidance to the Emergency Departments.
  • Implement and oversee quality improvement in initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and department performance.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement strategies to improve financial/operational health without compromising patient care.

Position Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years progressive leadership experience including nursing experience related to area of specialty is required.

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.

Licensure

Required:

  • RN: Registered Nurse by the Oregon State Board of Nursing required upon start.

Preferred:

  • TNCC
  • Certified Nurse Manager and Leader Certification (CNML) from the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
