POSITION SUMMARY

In general, the Patient Access Supervisor contributes to Asante's operations by planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining programs, policies, and management systems in all facets of the Department. In this role the Patient Access Supervisor works closely with staff on collaborative functions required to effectively gather information needed for billing and collection and serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Asante.

For Training and Quality, the Supervisor is responsible for operationalizing and maintaining successful education programs for Asante's Patient Access staff. Additional duties include monitoring quality and performance metrics, keeping leadership apprised of results, and using data to identify and develop targeted opportunities for staff development in all areas of the health system's revenue cycle. Oversight will include training and registration quality of all three Asante hospital campuses; AACH, ARRMC and ATRMC. The Supervisor will also collaborate with other Asante departments inside and outside of the hospital setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Associate Degree in Business, Healthcare or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare or related field, preferred
Experience
  • 3 years progressively more responsible hospital-based experience in patient registration or patient access, volunteer services, guest services, facilities or related field is required
  • For the Supervisor over Training and Quality, progressive hospital-based Patient Registration experience also required
Licensure/Certification
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), preferred
