Epic Trainer - Cadence

Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM

This position is not remote and so the selected candidate would need to live or relocate to the southern Oregon area. For this role, training and rounding is done in person.

This Epic Trainer may be expected to take 24/7 on-call support for a week at a time in rotation with the other members of the team. On-call rotation would begin when the staff member and Team Lead feel the level of skill has been achieved to triage and support end user critical needs.

Position Summary

The Epic Trainer is responsible for developing, testing, modifying, and maintaining the training environment. In this role, the Epic Trainer manages updates to policy and procedure documentation related to training; designs and develops educational material; conducts training for new staff and coordinates training for software upgrades and updates; implements training/education solutions and manages overall training project; and delivers learning solutions in a manner that both engages the learner and produces desired outcomes.

This role supports the Cadence team for Asante. Cadence is the Epic scheduling system built to assist outpatient and specialty practices and clinics with the optimization of their scheduling processes.

In this role, the Epic Cadence Trainer also oversees the curriculum development and executes training to new and transfer employees; develops training timelines for new projects; provides training and support that is crucial to supporting the new Community Connect clinics that have recently gone live or will go live; and oversees multiple credentialed trainers who help with the workload.

Please Note: To be considered for this position, qualified applicants will need to take and pass a proprietary assessment developed by Epic Systems Corporation if not already certified in a clinical build application.

As an Epic Trainer for Asante, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assess employee learning needs and design material accordingly.
  • Implement training/education solutions and manage overall training projects, including development and management of the trainer credentialing program.
  • Participate in regular communication with the assigned Epic implementation analyst, application coordinators, and projects managers as appropriate.
  • Work with Epic representatives, application coordinators and end users to ensure applications meet organizational needs.
  • Develop and document internal procedures to use in conjunction with Epic Applications.
  • Report and assess feedback from formal pre and post assessments, direct observation of the learner, and survey tools and via conversations with the learner and his/her manager to continuously modify curricula to meet learner needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting the Epic application team in day-to-day routine duties, like build, incident resolution and end user support as needed by the Epic Team Lead, Coordinator, Supervisor, Manager or Director.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education or experience in a Healthcare or IT related field is required.
  • Master's degree in Education, Adult Learning, or Instructional Design, preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience designing, developing, or implementing training solutions for clinical and/or business applications or processes is required.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability required.

Licensure

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with proof of a safe driving record for the past 10 years and proof of auto insurance may be required. If required, must obtain Oregon driver's license within 30 days of moving to Oregon (if applicable).

Certification Requirements

  • Epic Certification within four weeks of completing initial EPIC training course.
  • Epic Trainer (TED) Class within four weeks of completing the EPIC Application Trainer course.
  • Complete annual EPIC re-certification requirements.
