Epic Database Administrator

Additional Position Details: Full-time/salaried position. This is NOT a remote position and would require living or relocating to the Southern Oregon area.


Position Summary

The Epic Database Administrator installs, monitors, maintains, and performance tunes production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability and security. This role is also responsible for implementing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of databases and their applications. May also assist in developing and implementing database policies and procedures.

This role specifically works with the Epic systems to build, configure, deploy, implement, operate, support, and maintain the databases for Asante's Epic systems.

Please Note: An expectation for this role is to obtain an Epic Certification if not already Epic Certified.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in field of Computer Science, Information Services, Database Development, Database Administration, or related field - or an equivalent combination of education and additional work experience in lieu of a Bachelors.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in the configuration, integration, and management of applications, databases, and operating systems in a distributed computing environment is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Cogito Systems Administration.
  • IRIS and Cache database management systems.
  • Powershell Experience.
  • ETL/Report Writer Experience.
  • Good understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and IRIS on Microsoft Windows and UNIX based platforms.
  • Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
  • Familiarity with data processing flowcharting techniques.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy and security practices and laws.
