Position Summary

The BioMed Tech I provides for equipment repair, maintenance, and technical support for biomedical and life support equipment and is responsible for assuring that the patient care instrumentation is safe and effective. Additional duties of this position include equipment repair, support, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and general maintenance on equipment. The BioMed Tech I also performs duties to ensure accurate records of service for equipment. Strong computer skills are critical in this role. Electronics background and networking experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing assigned quality control measures to ensure accurate and valid processes are in place and maintained to assure the safety and care of all patients and equipment users. Also responsible for accurate calibration, operational check ,and preventive maintenance inspections of medical equipment.
  • Performing all identified administrative duties to assure accurate records of service exist for all equipment under our care and responsibility.
  • Providing a premier level of customer support and service, whether the contacts are internal or external customers.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree in Biomedical Technology or related field (such as electronics), preferred.

Experience

  • Prior experience in an electronic or technical work environment, preferably in a health care system, or an equivalent combination of education or experience is required.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance is required (must have Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of moving to Oregon if applicable).
  • CBET: Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician, preferred.
  • CET: Certified Electronics Technician, preferred.
