The Chair of Psychiatry will provide clinical and administrative leadership to a team of psychiatrists and advanced practice clinicians, as well as a robust support staff including social workers, clinical nurse specialists and other team members.

Responsibilities:

The Chair will be responsible for all aspects of the Department across all divisions, including growth, quality, and service education. The role is designed to be 30% clinical service and 50% leadership; .80 FTE

Highlights:

Lead a 24-bed inpatient unit

Crisis intervention services in the ED Consultation Liaison services

Development of other clinical programs

Sit on Asante Behavioral Health steering committee

Qualifications:

Strong clinical leader with experience in leading psychiatry service line

Track record of driving improvements in quality and safety, with progressive leadership experience Provision of full range of psychiatric services to assigned patients

Licensed as a psychiatrist in the state of Oregon or able to obtain licensure

Board certified and must maintain certification

Must possess good interpersonal communication and leadership skills

Must complete a satisfactory background investigation

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an approved medical school and completion of residency training in Psychiatry.

License / Certification: MD or DO licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners (OBME) and board certification/eligibility in Psychiatry required. Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges this includes but is not limited to, holding position-specific certifications/memberships as determined by Asante Medical Staff team (i.e. ACLS, BLS, PALS, etc.); Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs; Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in hospital's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage
