Position Summary

The EEG Tech position for the Cardiopulmonary department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center is an excellent opportunity for CNA's, Medical Assistants, or those in other patient care positions that have a flexible schedule and want to learn to administer EEG tests.

In this role, the EEG Tech performs high quality personalized care in diagnostic testing involving electroencephalograms, evoked potentials, hearing screens and sweat chloride studies. This role may require cross-training in setting up holter monitors and event monitors, scanning holter studies, and conducting tilt table testing. This role also requires strong critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well within a team.

PLEASE NOTE: This position requires taking call, typically every 3rd week from 4:30pm to 7:00am for 7 days. There is standby pay during this time and time and a half is paid if called in for a minimum of 2 hours.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required

Experience

  • While no previous EEG Tech experience is required, previous direct patient care experience such as Medical Assistant, CNA, or Cardiac Monitor Tech is highly preferred

Licensure/Certifications

  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start
  • REEGT: Registered EEG Technician, preferred

  • Effective communication skills and a strong team orientation
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet the needs of the department
