Job Summary

Asante is seeking a Director of Pharmacy and Chief Pharmacy Officer to lead and oversee the strategic direction, operations, and financial management of our Pharmacy service line. Reporting directly to an Asante CEO, this leadership role is responsible for ensuring the consistent and efficient delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care across the organization.

The Director of Pharmacy will manage personnel, contracts, and overall pharmacy services while overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the medication-use system. Utilizing evidence-based resources and industry best practices, this role ensures safe, effective, and regulatory-compliant medication management that supports optimal patient outcomes.

Additionally, the Director will monitor the quality and quantity of pharmaceutical care services, driving operational excellence and financial sustainability. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and strategic vision to enhance patient safety, streamline pharmacy operations, and contribute to Asante's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare.

Job Requirements

  • 5 years progressively responsible experience in specific type of pharmacy service (i.e. hospital, retail, home infusion), with 3 years management experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
  • Masters Degree in related field.
  • RPh : Registered Pharmacist (RPh) by Oregon Board of Pharmacy

Preferred

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates pharmacy involvement in collaborative clinical efforts and performance improvement ensuring teamwork and customer service
  • Ensures timely dissemination of information from committees to the organization, pharmacy management, and pharmacy staff, as appropriate.
  • Collaborates to optimize therapeutic outcomes, reduce the risk of drug related problems, and ensure the use of cost-effective pharmaceuticals across the organization
  • Oversees staffing levels to meet patient, regulatory, and organizational needs while promoting a cohesive team and collaboration amongst departments
  • Consistently demonstrates compliance with local, state, and national regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Responsible for pharmaceutical supply chain management including contracting, procurement, receiving, security, inventory control, and distribution policies
