Lead Patient Access Rep ED (Patient Registration)

Position Summary

The Patient Support Lead's primary role includes overseeing and supporting the work of Patient Access Departments. Among other duties, this individual is responsible for supporting the administrative needs of the supervisor staff; coordinating and facilitating training of staff; and supporting the day-to-day operational needs and work assignments of the department. The Lead is integral to the overall patient experience by facilitating patient through-put, ensuring exceptional customer service and handling conflict resolution within the assigned department. The Lead is a role model for adhering to Asante's mission and guiding values and encourages staff to uphold these values in their daily actions.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as required for the position, required
  • Associate Degree in business or healthcare related field, preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in patient access, registration, financial counseling, business/medical office, or related field - or currently at the Patient Access Representative level 2 is required.

Preferred Certifications

  • CHAA: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (NAHAM)
  • CRCR: Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (HFMA)
