Security Officer

Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.0 | On Call | Variable Hours/Variable Days. For this positions, candidates much have the flexibility to work a variable schedule that will include both day and nights shifts, as well as some weekends, as needed for coverage.

As a Security Officer, you will make extra money per hour (shift differentials) when working swing, night, and weekend hours. This on-call position also pays an additional 15% on top of the base pay, in additional to the shift differentials, for the flexibility required.

Position Summary

The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees, and the protection of property. They will patrol assigned areas alert for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, or other situations or conditions which may affect the overall security of the organization.

Position Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Criminology, Psychology, or related field, preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience is required.
• Please Note: Graduation from an approved law enforcement academy will be considered in lieu of experience.
• Taser Training: Employees must complete appropriate taser training before they are released to work any shifts. Information on this training will be provided upon hire.

Licensure/Certifications

• DPSST: Valid Temporary or Permanent Unarmed or Armed Security Certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training is required upon start.
• DL: Possession of a valid Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance is required. Must obtain Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of moving to Oregon (if applicable).
