Cardiac Rehab Exercise Specialist ATRMC (Cardiac Rehab)
FTE/Hours: .9 fte's/ 72 hours per pay period
Salary:$18.90 - $23.62 (typical starting range/based on experience)
Position Summary
The Cardiac Rehab Exercise Specialist for Asante is responsible for exercise prescription for the cardiac patient and monitoring the patient's response to exercise and recovery as outlined by the Cardiac Rehab staff and clinical guidelines. Additional responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, clerical duties, data collection, insurance verification, and equipment maintenance and supplies requisition.
What You'll Do
Adjust patient care planning and delivery based on established policy, procedures, protocols, or orders
Document patient's response and effectiveness of therapy or procedure and revise plan appropriately in collaboration with the RN
Perform rapid data collection to determine changing priorities and coordinates resources for effective response in all situations
Communicate data obtained and chart information as appropriate to other healthcare team members
Maintain exercise equipment and work area in a clean, safe, professional manner
Attend educational in-services and utilizes self-directed completion of unit specific and system wide competencies
Participate in endeavors to improve patient care, i.e. research, special projects and/or community related activities

What You Must Have
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or allied health career with a focus in fitness and wellness is required. May consider the equivalent in experience and education in lieu of degree.
6 months experience in personal fitness training, leading adult exercise classes, developing and implementing adult fitness protocols
Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Successful completion of Asante's Basic Cardiac Rhythms course, or the ability to challenge and pass the course exam within 4 months of hire date
Ability to demonstrate proper use of equipment to prevent injury and adherence to the exercise prescription, or willing to learn appropriate technical skills
Preferred experience
Previous or current experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation
Personal trainer Certification / ACSM Certification
Insurance verification and/or billing experience
Health Educator and/or Exercise Testing experience
Body Composition Analysis
Clinical Research
