FTE: 0.900000/Status: Full Time, scheduled night shift position

Schedule: 3rd Shift - Nights

Salary: Typical starting range is $18.90 - $23.62 (based on qualifications and years of relevant experience)

As a CNA2 at Asante, you will have the opportunity to earn the following shift differentials:

  • $1.21 extra per hour for hours worked between 3:00pm-11:00pm
  • $2.05 extra per hour for hours worked between 11:00pm-7:00am
  • $1.05 extra per hour for hours worked on weekend shifts

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mental Health Assistant-1/CNA2 for Asante assists in maintaining, restoring, and promoting patient's health through the application of psychiatric-mental health nursing principles as directed by a registered nurse (RN). General responsibilities include discontinuing saline locks, obtaining nasal swabs, adjusting oxygen rate of flow, taking vital signs, assisting with mobility/ambulation, intake and output recording, general hygiene/ADLs, and changing linens.

As a Mental Health Assistant/CNA2, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Promote and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by monitoring the unit and communicating effectively with team members
  • Collect data, make observations, and report conditions/changes to the RN based on symptoms, psychosocial and age specific needs
  • Provide input into the multidisciplinary treatment plans for patients and implementing care based on these plans
  • Document patients' response to nursing care and significant events consistent with established charting standards
  • Anticipate and respond effectively to critical/emergent situations and intervene in critical and/or life threatening situations effectively and coordinate resources for an effective response

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Documentation of continuing education in the Health Sciences required

Licensure/Certifications

  • CNA2: Acute Care Certified by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN)
  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start
  • NCPT: Nationally Certified Psychiatric Technician, preferred
