Seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Behavioral Health team at Asante in Medford, Oregon!

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford is a Level 2 trauma center and regional referral hospital that offers a wide range of high-quality medical care to residents of Southern Oregon. This 378-bed hospital is a state-of-the-art facility.

For this position, general duties include managing an average of 8 patients on the inpatient unit during day shifts, and managing up to 12 patients daily in the outpatient clinic. All inpatients will still have a Psychiatrist as the primary attending as back-up who will co-sign notes.

For home call: 5pm-7am, providing call coverage answering questions on patients in house and providing admitting orders for new patients. For every call shift, there will still be Psychiatrist as back up for any questions felt to be out of the scope of practice, and the admitting psychiatrist would review all admitting orders the next day. Outpatient work would be a standard outpatient practice where an advanced practitioner would see patients alone and would have a psychiatrist available to review any cases on an as needed basis.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.

License / Certification: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing or Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners. Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) also required upon start. Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges; Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs. Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in hospital's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.


Experience/Skills: Minimum 1-2 years of Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant experience in Psychiatry/Mental Health would be ideal. Some prior experience in Psychiatry or Mental Health certification is preferred.
