Position Summary

The Patient Care Services Supervisor (Short Stay Unit) provides oversight and coordination for a designated clinical program and related patient care areas. The primary focus is supervising daily patient care and ensuring that the care meets quality standards in a cost-effective manner. In addition, the Patient Care Services Supervisor provides performance improvement, statistical data collection, patient and community education, and management of organizational changes for the department and related patient care areas. The Supervisor collaborates with the direct Manager on related goal setting and planning; and provides consistent and timely information and feedback to the leader, including input regarding financial and/or quality performance and human resources issues.

The Short Stay Unit (SSU) at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) has 25 beds within a pre and post-surgical unit. We admit and prepare patients for various surgeries from open heart, GYN, urology, ENT and pediatric to name a few. As a dynamic nursing unit, we provide nurses the ability to make a difference while providing a comfortable and excellence surgical experience for our patients.

In our unit, you will have an opportunity to learn and grow your nursing skills within a fast-paced and collegial team. With the ability to care for a variety of patients, from geriatric, adult to pediatric, you will educate, reassure and provide compassion to our surgical patients.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN) - preferred

Experience

  • Two years clinical experience in area of specialty or 2 years progressive clinical leadership experience in a related specialty
  • Charge nurse experience - preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) required upon start
  • Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association required upon start
