Myth Busters

Does it rain a lot in Southern Oregon?

Medford gets only 23 inches of rain per year compared with the US average of 38 inches of rain per year. However, we are still waiting for someone to go outside and manually measure this one themselves. Not it!

Does Bigfoot live around these parts?

You can feel safe roaming the outdoors here. We are pretty certain we saw Bigfoot pack up and head to Washington.

What is the correct pronunciation of "Oregon”?

We won’t hold it against you if you learned to pronounce it as "Or-e-gawn”. The locals insist the correct pronunciation is "OR-eh-g-in.”

Are all Oregonians obsessed with nature?

The natural beauty is undeniable here. It won’t take long for you to fall in love with our lush forests, serene rivers and majestic mountains, too.
